Squad falls to 59th-ranked Indiana State

Middle Tennessee (4-9) won the first completed doubles match, but the Sycamores came back to take the first point of the match.
Blue Raiders Hala Sufi and Claudia Szabo defeated Jennifer Migan and Joanne Schickerling, 8-1, at No. 1, but ISU's Ariane Masschelein and Kelly Hamm dropped Marlene Chemin and Ann-Kristin Siljestrom, 8-5, at No. 2.
Indiana State claimed the doubles point with a victory at No. 3, as Fadzai Masiyazi and Sarah Galparoli won 9-7 over Pooja Kommireddi and Stephanie Parkison.
In singles the Sycamores claimed the first three completed matches to post the team victory.
Masiyazi defeated Parkison, 6-2, 6-3, at No. 5, Migan won 6-3, 6-4 over 72nd-ranked Sufi at No. 1 and Schickerling posted a 4-6, 6-0, 10-6, victory against Szabo at No. 4. Galparoli won 6-3, 6-3, over Chemin at No. 3 and Masschelein defeated Siljestrom, 6-4, 6-3, at No. 2.
Middle Tennessee's only point of the match came from Kommireddi at No. 6, a 7-5, 6-3, winner over Hamm.
Middle Tennessee continues its six-match homestand Monday at 11 a.m., facing 49th-ranked South Alabama at the Buck Bouldin Tennis Center.
