HOT SPRINGS, Ark. - The Middle Tennessee women's golf team made a strong push with an 8-over 296 in Monday's second round and is tied for third at the UALR-North Texas Classic at the Diamante Club in Hot Springs, Ark.
Middle Tennessee is tied with Texas El Paso and eight shots behind leader Arkansas-Little Rock (588). Missouri State (593) is in second place entering Tuesday's final round. The Blue Raiders rallied after shooting a 306 in the opening round.
Junior Taryn Durham led Middle Tennessee with a 1-over 145 and is tied for fourth as she guns for her eighth top 10 finish in nine tournaments this year. Leigh Wilkins (152) is tied for 22nd, followed by Mallory Bishop (153), who is tied for 26th. Senior Maggie McGill also is among the top 30 in the field after shooting a 154 through two rounds Monday. She is tied for 29th. Clara Leathers finished with a 157.
