Women's 4x200 Relay Places Second

Men's 4x400 finals washed out by weather

April 7, 2007 · MT Media Relations
MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Middle Tennessee's women's 4x200-meter relay placed second Saturday at the Texas Relays in Austin, Texas, before hail washed out many of the rest of the day's running events.

The women's 4x200-meter relay of sophomore TraMayne Gillyard, senior Veronia Patterson, freshman Sarah Nambawa and senior Shanna-Kay Campbell finished second in 1:40.26, just 33-hundredths of a second behind the winning team from UT-Arlington (1:39.53).

The men's 4x200-meter relay did not run, instead choosing to participate in the finals of the 4x400-meter relay later in the day, only to have that event washed out by the inclement weather.

Full results from the Texas Relays may be found at http://www.texassports.com/index.php?s=&url_channel_id=81&change_well_id=1. The remainder of the Middle Tennessee track teams run Saturday at the Tiger Track Classic in Auburn, Ala.
