MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - The Middle Tennessee women's soccer team will conduct its Alumni Game at Blue Raider Field Saturday at 6 p.m., with several of the top players in program history expected to return for the annual event.

Members of the current Blue Raider squad will test their skills against players who have helped lay the foundation for the program's high level of success.

"The Alumni game has become an annual event and it's always something we look forward to as part of our spring season," Middle Tennessee soccer coach Aston Rhoden said. "I would like to thank our graduate assistant, Laura Howarth, for her hard work and contacting our former players to return for this event. We have a large group of players returning and we are very appreciative of that because we believe it says a great deal about the program when you have players who come back to participate in events such as this one."

Howarth, who played as Laura Miguez during her stellar Blue Raider career, not only has worked tirelessly to help make this event a success, but she also enjoyed one of the best careers in the history of Middle Tennessee soccer. She still is the all-time leader in assists and points, and she's tied for second in career goals scored. Howarth will shed her graduate assistant duties to return to the field in competition Saturday.

"I'm really looking forward to the Alumni Game but it's more about getting to see a lot of my teammates and play with them again," Howarth said. "Don't get me wrong, I'm going to enjoy competing against our current players and that will be fun because they probably think they are better than the veterans. We will have to see."

In addition to Howarth, the Alumni will be represented by Jessica Northcutt, Danielle Perreault, Claire Ward, Melissa Wellman, Katy Rayburn, Sara Wohlhueter, Sheri Robbins, Emily Carter, Jenny Cox, Brooke Ward, Sarah Schulz, and former strength coach Darren Edgington.
