MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Junior Ashley Cline and Sophomore Martha Davis have been named to the Sun Belt All-Conference second team. The all-league team and individual regular season awards are scheduled to be announced at the official pre-tournament banquet on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.

"I am thrilled for both. They don't get enough credit and are overlooked by other teams. They are both consistently doing well and having a great impact on our team this year," said Middle Tennessee Head Coach Leigh Podlesny.

Cline earned regular season honors for the first time in her career. She proved a terror on the base path, becoming the first-ever Blue Raider to lead Sun Belt Conference for stolen bases at the end of the season with 32.

The Gallatin, Tenn. native started 52 games this season, leading the team in runs scored with 34. On the defensive side of the ball, she has been a stalwart at second base, collecting 97 assists.

"Ashley has had huge impact on our team because of her speed. She contributes everyday. Her mentality and aggressiveness is very valuable to the team. She is used to playing at the top level and she shows that with her attitude," Podlesny said.

Davis also earned all-SBC for the first time in her MT career following a stellar season both offensively and defensively for the Blue Raiders.

The Signal Mountain, Tenn. native was tied for the team lead in hits with 51 and led the team in doubles with 13. She was second on the team in slugging percentage with .497 and third on the team in batting average with .313 in a team-high 163 at-bats. Defensively, she led the team in outfield assists with 9, more than every other Blue Raider outfielder combined.

"Martha is one of most underrated players on team. She comes out every day and performs on a consistent level. She provides great defense in the outfield and has made a lot of game-winning plays," Podlesny said. "It is quite an accomplishment for any player at this level [to be honored]. Some players fade into the background between games but she comes out every week and performs no matter who or where we are playing."
