Soccer Announces Camp Dates

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. -- Middle Tennessee head soccer coach Aston Rhoden announced his 2004 camp dates this week. Camp brochures will be available shortly through the soccer office or at goblueraiders.com.

The Middle Tennessee Soccer Camps are designed to create the best possible environment for young players to improve their skills and knowledge. An emphasis is placed on giving individual instruction according to each player's skill level. Middle Tennessee Head Soccer Coach Aston Rhoden will serve as camp director at each of our five camps. Instructors will include Assistant Coach Beth Acreman, along with an array of outstanding college and high school coaches as well as our Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders.

June 14-18
First Touch Camp (5:30-7:30 p.m.)
Ages 5-9 (Coed)

We understand that young athletes have different physical and psychological needs and as such we offer the First Touch Camp. This camp is for young and budding soccer players and will focus on basic skills such as heading, dribbling, shooting, passing and receiving. Skill demonstrations will be conducted by members of our top quality coaching staff. There will be plenty of small group drills and FUN small-sided games.

June 14-18
Girls Camp (9 a.m.-Noon)
Ages 10-18, Teams Welcome

As with all our camps, the expert technical and tactical instruction in this camp will be provided by the camp's outstanding coaching staff and top collegiate players. This camp is a week of fully demonstrated and intense training designed to help every field player and goalkeeper achieve new levels of expertise and understanding. If you are a female player who is looking for a challenge and want to fully develop your soccer skills, this camp is a must. 

July 12-16
Striker/Goalkeeper Camp (5:30-7:30 p.m.)
Ages 10-18 (Coed)

This position-specific camp offers intense training for those players who want to score goals and for those who want to prevent them. Strikers will focus on improving the techniques and tactics of "finishing". Goalkeepers will focus on many aspects of the position including handling, shot stopping, footwork, angle play, distribution and the goalkeeper as an extra defender.

Girls High School Team Camp
July 18-22

July 26-30
Boys Camp (9 a.m.-Noon)
Ages 10-18, Teams Welcome
Much like our girls camp, this camp is a week of fully demonstrated and intense training designed to help every field player and goalkeeper achieve new levels of expertise and understanding. This will be accomplished through small group training by our highly qualified coaching staff. If you are a male player who is looking for a challenge and want to fully develop your soccer skills, this camp is a must.
