2007 Pro-Am Dates Set
Pro-Am dates set for September 7-8
August 9, 2007 · MT Media RelationsThe 21st Annual Pro-Am will also honor former Middle Tennessee men's tennis head coach Dale Short, who retired after the 2007 season.
Activities will begin on Friday evening, September 7, at 6:00 p.m. with a tennis clinic and "Hit with the Pros" session followed by a short exhibition. Dinner, along with a program, will begin at approximately 7:30 p.m. at the Emmett and Rose Kennon Sports Hall of Fame Building located next to the tennis courts.
The men's and women's doubles tournament will be held Saturday, September 8, at 8:00 a.m. and finish approximately at 2:00 p.m. Lunch and drinks will be provided during the day. An awards ceremony will conclude the day's activities.
The Pro-Am will be a doubles tournament format with a back draw. We will be utilizing area teaching pros with current and former players as pros. All amateurs will be matched with one of the pros and will play in the doubles tournament, and everyone will be guaranteed five matches. Besides the fun, there are plenty of prizes including trips and tennis gear.
All participants will receive a shirt or blouse. All non-participants who donate a minimum of $125.00 will receive the same if unable to attend. This is the tennis programs' one fundraising event of the year. The recent court resurfacing and upgrades have depleted most of our fund raising dollars.
