Lady Raider Tennis Hands UALR First Loss
February 20, 2004 · MT Media RelationsThe Lady Raiders won the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 2. No. 31 ranked Manon Kruse and Carien Venter blanked Katie Prokop and Cecelia Poveda 8-0 and Jennifer Klaschka and Laura McNamara won 8-1 over Jenna Hirdle and Bindiya Parekh at No. 2 doubles.
Kruse, ranked No. 54, picked up her seventh straight win at No. 1 singles with a 6-0, 6-1 win over Poveda. In her last two matches, she has only lost two games.
Klaschka got the win at No. 2 singles to give the Lady Raiders a 3-0 lead in the match with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Hirdle. Venter sealed the Middle Tennessee victory with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Parekh at No. 3 singles. Arkansas-Little Rock picked up wins at No. 4 and No. 6 singles.
The Lady Raiders return to action on Sunday when the team plays at Memphis. Match time is set for 2 p.m.
