Adams, Asberry Guide Blue Raiders Over Hofstra 3-1

Adams ended the match with a .417 hitting percentage as she recorded 19 kills with just four errors. Asberry posted 13 kills of her own for a .379 attack percentage.
The Blue Raiders (12-1) out blocked the Pride 16 to six as Asberry led the team in block assists with seven. Adding assistance on defense were Adams with six and sophomores Leslie Clark and Sasha McGlothin with five block assists each.
Middle Tennessee also recorded 66 kills as the Pride notched just 46. Hofstra hit .080 for the match compared to the Blue Raiders who had a hitting percentage of .220.
Middle Tennessee began the match by taking a four-point lead over the Pride after an ace by Adams, 13-9. The Blue Raiders then went on a four to one run to extend its lead to six, 17-11.
Hofstra battled back to make it a one-point game, 22-21. The two teams continued to trade points before knotting the score at 25. Hofstra pulled ahead taking a one-point lead, 28-27 before pulling out the 30-28 win.
Service errors hurt the Blue Raiders in game one as they committed eight and senior Quanshell Scott had three.
In game two, the Pride jumped out to an early 4-1 lead forcing Middle Tennessee to take a time out. After the time out, Hofstra won four of the next five points to take a six-point, lead 8-2 as Middle Tennessee burned its last time out.
After the Blue Raiders used their last time out they won three of the next four points to cut the lead in half, 8-5. Middle Tennessee continued to battle as it cut the lead to two, 15-13 by winning three straight points.
The two teams continued to trade points but the Blue Raiders tied it up at 26. Two points later Middle Tennessee took its first lead of the game, 28-27 and then the win, 30-28.
The Blue Raiders carried the momentum from game two into game three as it took an early 9-4 lead after winning four straight points. Middle Tennessee extended its lead while holding the Pride to just five more points, 14-9.
The Blue Raiders continued to out score Hofstra taking a late seven-point lead, 27-20. Middle Tennessee won the last six points of the game for the 30-20 win.
Middle Tennessee jumped out to a 6-0 lead to begin game four after struggling in the first two games of the match. Then the Pride won five of the next seven points to tie the game at seven.
The two teams continued to trade points with neither taking more than a one-point lead until the Blue Raiders took a three-point lead, 19-16 as Hofstra took a time out. The Pride took a three-point lead late, 25-22, but the Blue Raiders responded by winning five straight for a two-point lead, 27-25.
Middle Tennessee won game four and the match on a service error by Hofstra's Lauren Engel.
The Blue Raiders will wrap-up the UConn Toyota Classic by playing host UConn at 6:30 p.m.
