Richard Advances to Third Round
September 29, 2007 · MT Medai RelationsRichard had a bye to begin pre-qualifying but in the second round of play Bobby Deye of Florida State withdrew due to an injury giving Richard the automatic win.

"Morgan didn't feel to well so it worked out great that he had the day off today. He practiced this afternoon and is feeling much better so he should be ready to go tomorrow," head coach David McNamara said.
Freshman John Peers fell to Brad Mixson of Florida State, 7-6(5), 6-4 in his first match of the tournament. "John had some chances early. He was up 5-4 and in a pretty good situation to take care of the match but things got away from him. Mixson picked up a lot of confidence and took advantage of some bad breaks for John," McNamara said.
