Blue Raiders Victorious in Alumni Game
Finish fall season with 4-1 win over MT Alumni

MT starter Kelly Head picked up the win for Blue Raiders, giving up just one run on four hits, while striking out two and walking one over three innings of action. Whittney Padgett also pitched for Middle Tennessee, holding the Alumni hitless over the final two innings.
Former Blue Raider Amanda Kendall gave up four runs on five hits while striking out three and walking five in the complete game effort.
MT took the lead in the bottom of the first inning when Katie Mielke drove in Caitlin McClure with a sacrifice to foul territory in deep left field despite an acrobatic, diving catch from recent graduate Muriel Ledbetter.
The Alumni tied up the game at one run apiece when softball graduate assistant Krista Barts crushed a 1-0 pitch well over the fence in left field.
MT regained the lead in the second inning when a Corrie Abel triple to right-center field was followed by a Padgett RBI single to left field. Padgett would eventually score on a bases-loaded walk to increase the lead to 3-1.
The Blue Raiders wrapped p the scoring in the third inning when Katelyn Oro drove in Abel with a sacrifice fly to third base.
Head Coach Sue Nevar and athletic trainer Kristin Midkiff went a combined 0-for-2 for the alumni in pinch-hitting appearances.
