MACON, Ga. - Middle Tennessee improved its overall play and made a slight move up the leader board during second-round play at the Brickyard Collegiate Championship at The Brickyard at Riverside.

Freshman Jason Millard and junior Chas Narramore led an improved Blue Raider showing in the second round as Middle Tennessee shot 2-over 290 and is 8-over 584 entering Tuesday's final round. The Blue Raiders, who are ranked 26th nationally in the first Golfstat poll of the season, moved into a tie for seventh with No. 44 Kennesaw State.

No. 11 Georgia owns a slim two shot lead over Clemson and No. 7 Georgia Tech is 10 shots off the pace.

"I can't fault our effort, the guys are playing hard," Middle Tennessee coach Whit Turnbow said. "We haven't had our best stuff as a team at this tournament and when you are playing against some of the best teams in the country you can't afford not to have your best stuff. We battled Monday and I would like to think our best round of the tournament is going to come Tuesday."

Nick Bailes shot 1-over Monday and is 1-over 145 for the tournament, which is tied for 26th. Bailes is participating as an individual. Georgia's Brian Harman leads the tournament at 10-over 134.

Cochran leads the Blue Raider scoring in the tournament. He shot 1-over Monday and is 1-over 145 through two rounds, tied for 26th. The play of Millard, a freshman from Murfreesboro, has been a bright spot. He was even on the par-72 course Monday and stands 2-over 146 through two rounds. He is tied for 32nd along with Craig Smith, who has shot 1-over 73 in each of the first two rounds.

Narramore, who rebounded from a 3-over showing in the opening round with even play in the second round. He is 3-over 147, followed by Kent Bulle at 11-over 155.
