MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Head Coach Rick Stockstill announced today that freshman Byron McLeod has been lost for the season.

A tight end, McLeod suffered a torn labrum in his right shoulder and will undergo surgery on Friday. The Tampa, Fla., native will likely miss spring practice while recovering.

McLeod played in three games as a member of the kickoff return team.

The University will apply for a medical redshirt.
