Lady Raiders Fall to UNLV 5-2
March 20, 2004 · MT Media RelationsUNLV began the day by taking two of three doubles matches for one team point. Lady Rebel teams won at courts No. 2 and 3 to offset a defeat at the top spot where the nation's 22nd-ranked duo of Manon Kruse and Carien Venter were victorious.
In singles play, UNLV's Gyorgyi Zsiros got her biggest win of the season when she upset 55th-ranked Manon Kruse 6-2, 7-6, which was only the visitor's second loss of the season in 13 matches.
Middle Tennessee got points with victories on No. 2 and No. 3 but the bottom half of the UNLV lineup was nearly flawless, taking all three matches in straight sets. Winning for the hosts was Cindy Treber at No. 4, Claire Smith at No. 5 and Mery Constanti on Court Six.
The Lady Raiders will play Bowling Green on Sunday at 11 a.m.
