Blue Wins First Game of Blue and White Series 8-7

Series will continue on Friday at 3 p.m.

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Blue won the first game of the annual Blue and White Series played by the Middle Tennessee baseball team.

Junior Grant Box scored the winning run on a wild pitch giving the Blue team the 8-7 win.

The game was tied 5-5 in the top of the ninth as the Gray team scored two runs taking a 7-5 lead. Then the Blue team scored three unearned runs with two outs clinching the game.

Redshirt freshman Matt Doss recorded the win on the mound for the Blue team while senior Brad Robinson took the loss for the Gray team.

Box ended the game 2 for 5 with one RBI to help lead the Blue team. Also guiding the Blue team was junior Rawley Bishop who was 2 for 3 and scored two runs.

For the Gray team, sophomore Ben Darlington went 4 for 5 with a double.

The Blue Raiders will continue the Blue and White Series on Friday at 3 p.m. and will play the final game of the series on Saturday at 12 p.m.
