Gray Wins Blue and White Series 2-1

Blue Raiders set to wrap-up fall practice.

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Gray won the Blue and White Series 2-1 with wins on Friday and Saturday.

Gray won 9-8 on Friday after a two-run walk-off home run by sophomore Ben Darlington. Darlington ended the day 3 for 4 with a home run and two RBI.

Junior Taylor Dennis and freshman Tyler Acker added to the Gray team's offense on Friday. Dennis ended the day 3 for 4 with two doubles while Acker was 3 for 4.

Redshirt freshman Matt Doss took the loss on the mound for the Blue team after giving up the home run to Darlington. Redshirt freshman Marshall Mears earned the win for the Gray team as he went two and two-thirds innings allowing just one earned run.

Offensively for the Blue team, junior Rawley Bishop was 1 for 3 with a walk and a home run. Junior Grant Box also added assistance as he was 3 for 4 with a home run.

On Saturday, Gray won 5-1 after the game began as a pitcher's dual for each team.

Junior Jordan Alvis notched the win as he pitched five innings allowing just three hits and one run. Senior Brad Robinson pitched two scoreless innings allowing just two hits to earn the save.

Junior Kevin Whittaker had the loss on the mound for the Blue team as he pitched five innings allowing six hits and two run.

For the Gray team, junior Nathan Hines went 2 for 4 with a double while Tyler Burnett ended the day 3 for 4 with one RBI.

Senior Zach Barrett led the Blue team offensively as he ended the day 1 for 3 with an RBI as he drove in the only run.

The Blue Raiders will wrap-up fall practice on Wednesday afternoon.
