Peterson Prepares for Celebrity Spelling Bee

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Head baseball coach Steve Peterson will compete in the 2007 Rebecca Jones Celebrity Spelling Bee on Nov. 27.

Peterson has been selected as one of the contestants in the event that will include local and national celebrities.

Chris Young a RCA recording artist and a native of Rutherford County will help kick-off the event by singing a couple of songs.

Other celebrities in the event include; Mayor of Rutherford County Ernest Burgess, Murfreesboro Mayor Tommy Bragg, State Representative John Hood, Director of Rutherford County Schools Harry Gill, former Senator Andy Womack.

Sheila Bratton will be the master of ceremonies for the Spelling Bee. Elizabeth Church, Judge Don Ash and Ted LaRoche will be the judges of the Spelling Bee.

The Spelling Bee will consist of three rounds. In the first two rounds, contestants will be asked to spell one word.

In the third round, participants will be asked to spell words that relate to them. For example, Peterson may be asked to spell baseball while Burgess may be asked to spell Rutherford.

In the fourth round, contestants will be asked harder words as participants begin to be eliminated to find the Spelling Bee winner.

The 2007 Rebecca Jones Celebrity Spelling Bee to benefit Read to Success will be held at the Patterson Park Community Center on Nov. 27 beginning at 6 p.m.
