MOBILE, Ala. - Middle Tennessee had three players named to the 2007 All-Sun Belt Conference women's soccer team prior to the start of the league's postseason tournament.

Seniors Ingrid Christensen and Holly Grogan and sophomore Kathrine Andresen each earned a spot on the second team after the Blue Raiders (10-5-4) finished second in the regular season.

"I'm proud of all three players who earned a spot on the all-conference team and I believe there could have been even more but the league was deep this season and there were several talented players so it's an honor to be voted to the all-league team," Middle Tennessee coach Aston Rhoden said. "Each of these players have been instrumental in our success this season and they are deserving of such recognition."

Grogan, a forward, is on the team for a third straight year and joins Laura (Miguez) Howarth and Rebecca Rodriguez as the only players in program history to be named all-conference three times. The Bexhill, England native ranked 16th nationally in assists this season with eight. She also was among the league leaders in points (20). Grogan is Middle Tennessee's all-time leader in goals (38), points (102) and is second all-time in assists (26). Grogan also is first all-time with 13 game-winning goals.

Christensen is a two-time all-SBC selection and, like Grogan, was a preseason all-SBC pick this season. A staunch defender, Christensen is the only senior on a defense that has been the Blue Raiders' strength this season. Middle Tennessee has allowed 22 goals in 19 matches entering the SBC Championships. Christensen was the SBC Newcomer of the Year in 2005. Her aggressive style has led the team's stingy unit.

Andresen earned a spot on the squad after proving to be a valuable weapon in her sophomore season. She inherited the responsibility of center-mid from two-time All-SBC performer Katie Daley and responded like a champ. The lightening-quick Andresen has been solid in all aspects of the game, not only setting the table for the Blue Raider offense, but also stabilizing the middle and assisting a strong defense.
