Chu inks with the Blue Raiders

January 9, 2008 · MT Media RelationsMURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Middle Tennessee Head Coach Rick Stockstill announced today defensive tackle Immanuel Chu has signed a scholarship agreement with the Blue Raiders. Chu joins linebacker Jamari Lattimore as mid-term signees for the Blue Raiders.
Chu is transferring to Middle Tennessee from the College of the Sequoias in California where he played the 2007 season. Chu had 30 tackles, five tackles for loss, and four quarterback sacks in seven games with the Giants.
The Woodstock, Ga., native was a highly-rated recruit coming out of the prep ranks where he played with current Blue Raider linebacker Danny Carmichael at Woodstock High School. Named a top 50 recruit by Scout.com, Chu had 70 total tackles, 16 tackles for loss, and five sacks as a senior on his way to being named the county's Defensive Player of the Year.
Chu signed with Illinois out of high school where he was a member of the team in 2005 and 2006 before transferring to the College of the Sequoias.
