Peck Adds One More to Signing Class

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Middle Tennessee volleyball picked up one more signee late yesterday as Tara Mikuzis sent her scholarship agreement in last night.

Mikuzis is a 5-10 outsider hitter from Shorewood, Ill. Mikuzis led Joliet Township High School (32-6) to a Regional Title with 303 kills and 302 digs, 26 aces and passed 2.33 in serve receive. In 2003 she was named Chicago Sun Times Second Team All-State, Chicago Tribune All-State, Champaign News-Gazette Honorable Mention All-State, and Joliet Herald All-Area First Team and Runner-up MVP.

"Tara will have an immediate impact on our program at Middle Tennessee," said head volleyball coach Matt Peck. "She is a very smart, powerful attacker with an outstanding ball-control and finesse. She has a great work-ethic and a wonderful court presence."

Peck is hoping to land two or three more signees before the 2004 season.
