Nickson to play in all-star game Saturday
Former Blue Raider will play CB and kick returner
January 29, 2008 · MT Media RelationsMURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Former Middle Tennessee football player Damon Nickson will head to El Paso, Texas this Saturday to compete in the Texas vs The Nation All-Star Game. Nickson will play for the Texas squad which will be coached by Gene Stallings.
Nickson, a four-year starter for the Blue Raiders, earned second team all-American honors in 2006 as a kickoff returner while also being tabbed first team all-Sun Belt as a defensive back and returner. Nickson ended his career with 158 tackles, eight interceptions, and seven pass breakups.
Nickson, who will wear No. 27, will be in the secondary while also returning kicks. Nickson arrived in El Paso on Sunday and started practicing on Monday.
The game will kickoff at 2 PM CST and will be nationally televised on CSTV Network.
