The Blue Raiders will travel to San Antonio, Texas to play UT-San Antonio on Friday, Feb. 1 at 10 a.m. Then on Sunday, Feb. 3 Middle Tennessee will play conference rival North Texas in Denton, Texas at 12 p.m.
The Blue Raiders, who are 1-3 overall, will look to rebound from a 7-0 loss to Purdue last weekend. Middle Tennessee's only win of the season was a 7-0 victory over Tennessee Tech, one day before losing to Purdue.
"I am really excited for our team to get back on the court. There's no way to tell how much we learned from our loss against Purdue until our next competition," head coach Alison Ojeda said. "Our girls have been working hard on and off the court for a couple of years now and are at the point where the more we compete, the better we get."
UT-San Antonio lost to No. 24 Texas 6-1 and Rice 7-0 to begin the season 0-2. The only player to post a win for the Roadrunners is Nathalie Wallin who plays in the No. 2 position.
On Sunday, the Blue Raiders will begin conference play against the Mean Green who is 2-1 on the season with wins over Stephen F. Austin and UT-Arlington. North Texas fell 4-3 to Rice to begin the 2008 season.
"We are playing our first conference match this weekend against North Texas, a team we lost to my first year here. We are looking to get off to a good start in conference play," Ojeda said.
