Brown Named Academic All-District

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Middle Tennessee sophomore Brandi Brown was one of 15 players recognized for academic and athletic performance as part of the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Team, as announced on Thursday by the College Sports Information Directors of America.
Brown is a Third Team selection from District IV, which is comprised of schools in Tennessee, Kentucky, Ohio and Michigan. The Middle Tennessee sophomore has a 3.97 grade-point-average in Accounting and was a Sun Belt Commissioner's List honoree in 2006-07 after posting a perfect 4.0 GPA.
Brown has played in 15 games this season for the Blue Raiders, averaging 7.7 points and 2.9 rebounds per outing. She hits 39 percent of her 3-point attempts, ranking second on the club. The Jamestown, Tenn., native missed eight games from January 3-26 after breaking her hand in practice.
Middle Tennessee takes on Florida International in Miami on Saturday at 4:15 p.m. CT. The Blue Raiders return home for a pair of games next week, taking on South Alabama Thursday, Feb. 14, at 5:30 p.m. and then hosting rival Western Kentucky on Sunday, Feb. 17, at 2 p.m.
