Women's Tennis Ready for Saturday Action
Blue Raiders set to face No. 28 Kentucky
February 7, 2008 · MT Media RelationsThe Blue Raiders will play Kentucky on Saturday, Feb 9 at 12 p.m. The Wildcats are currently ranked 28th in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association poll.
"We are coming off a really tough weekend. Obviously we didn't do as well as we want o or as we are capable of. We have been practicing executing shots and working on finishing points. They have done a good job with that this week," head coach Alison Ojeda said.
Middle Tennessee is currently 1-5 on the season and has been led by junior Marlene Chemin. The Augsberg, Germany, native has posted a record of 3-3 thus far this season with wins over Ole Miss, Tennessee Tech and UT-San Antonio.
"It will be hard to this against Kentucky but it will be a good challenge. We will have to be excited and ready to go. Some of our players are a little under the weather so we will have to have some different players' step-up. I am looking forward to it. I think it will be exciting," Ojeda said.
Senior Ann-Kristin Siljestrom has also helped guide the Blue Raiders in 2008. The Stockholm, Sweden, native has posted a record of 2-4 headed into weekend play with wins over Tennessee Tech and UT-San Antonio.
