Nambawa Voted Sun Belt Athlete of the Week

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Middle Tennessee sophomore Sarah Nambawa was voted the Sun Belt Female Field Athlete of the Week on Wednesday after her performances at last weekend's MT Valentine Invitational.

Nambawa posted a personal-best mark of 19-0 in winning the long jump, , the second best long jump mark in the Sun Belt this season. The sophomore also won the triple jump with a mark of 42-3 and finished sixth in the 200-meters in 25.17. It was her sixth and seventh event victories of the indoor season.

It was the second AOW award this year for Nambawa, who garnered the honor on January 14 as well. Nambawa is the fifth different Blue Raider voted Athlete of the Week during the indoor season.

Middle Tennessee does not have a meet this week but will host the Sun Belt Championships February 23-24 at Murphy Center.
