Hines led the Blue Raiders (5-0-1) offensively as he ended the day 3 for 3 with three RBI, two doubles, a triple and scored two runs.
Jake Oester led the Rockets (1-2) as he was 3 for 4 with four RBI, two home runs and scored two runs. Oester had a part in five of Toledo's six runs on Saturday afternoon.
Stanley entered the game in relief and received the win as he worked 1.2 innings allowing one run on two hits.
Toledo began the game by scoring a run after the leadoff hitter reached on an error by Bishop, 1-0.
The Blue Raiders responded with a run of their own as Hines doubled to reach and then scored on a single by Brentz.
Middle Tennessee added two runs on one hit in the second to take a 3-1 lead. To begin the third, Toldedo posted three runs on two hits including Oester's two-run home run to take a 4-3 lead.
In the bottom of the eighth, Middle Tennessee trailed 5-3 Nathan Hines hit a two-run double to give the Blue Raiders a 7-5 lead.
Toledo added one run in the ninth but it was not enough as Middle Tennessee held on for the 7-6 win.
Middle Tennessee will be back in action on Saturday afternoon when plays game two of its doubleheader with Toledo.
