MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Middle Tennessee junior Chas Narramore's solid and consistent play has earned him a reputation as one of the top collegiate golfers in the Sun Belt Conference.

His consistency also has enabled him to become a highly-decorated performer on the links. Narramore picked up his second Sun Belt Conference Golfer of the Month honor this season, and third of his career, in a vote of league coaches and sports information directors Wednesday.

First-year Middle Tennessee Head Coach Whit Turnbow said consistency has become the greatest part of Narramore's game.

"His consistency is the thing I have been most impressed with," Turnbow said. "Maybe he hasn't show as low as he had in the past but across the board he has been more consistent which means he is going to be there each week for us and he has to be if we are going to be successful."

Narramore, who is sixth in the Sun Belt with a 72.5 stroke average, helped Middle Tennessee to consecutive tournament wins in February with a pair of Top 10 finishes. It marked the first time Middle Tennessee had won consecutive tournaments since the 1997-98 season.

Narramore, a Kingston, Tenn., native, shot par or better in the nine rounds played during the voting period. He finished 10th out of 67 in helping the Blue Raiders win The All-American Classic in Spring, Texas. He followed with a seventh-place finish out of 89 players at the Ron Smith/USF Invitational, hosted by South Florida, last weekend.

Narramore earned first-team All-Sun Belt honors as a sophomore and became the first Blue Raider individual to earn an at-large berth in the NCAA Regional.

"Chas is maturing as a player and a person," Turnbow said. "He is starting to make better decisions on and off the golf course. He is becoming a well-rounded person as well as a well-rounded golfer."

Middle Tennessee returns to action at the Carter Plantation Intercollegiate in Hammond, La., March 24-25.
