The Blue Raiders, who are currently ranked 70th in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Poll, will face the Golden Eagles at the Buck Bouldin Tennis Center on the campus of Middle Tennessee.
Middle Tennessee is currently 6-9 and is led by freshman John Peers who sports a 9-6 record on the season.
The match is set to begin at 1 p.m. Free food and drinks will be available for those who attend beginning at 12:30 p.m. Live stats will also be available on www.goblueraiders.com.
2008 Pro-Am Dates Set:
Middle Tennessee State University's tennis programs will host the 22nd annual Pro-Am Tennis Classic, September 5-6, at the Buck Bouldin Tennis Center on the Middle Tennessee campus.
This year's event will return to its original round-robin format.
There will be men's and women's divisions with a doubles round-robin format. All amateurs will be teamed with a current or former Middle Tennessee tennis team member or an area teaching pro. Plans are to have numerous prizes including trips and other fine gifts.
There will be a dinner party, tennis clinic and exhibition featuring current and former tennis greats on Friday, September 5. The doubles round-robin will take place followed by a lunch and awards ceremony on Saturday, September 6.
This event is the only fundraiser for the Middle Tennessee tennis program. Anyone interested in participating as a player or sponsor should contact David McNamara at 615/898-2957.
Following the day's activities on Saturday, September 6 the Blue Raider football team will face Maryland at 6 p.m.
