Blue Raiders Headed to Arkansas

Friday, March 14-16 the Blue Raiders will be in Jonesboro, Ark., playing Arkansas State, who is currently undefeated in league play. The Indians are 10-5 overall and 3-0 in conference action. Arkansas State lost its first game of week to Memphis but bounced back on Wednesday with wins over Harris-Stowe State.
Middle Tennessee is currently 8-3-1 overall and 1-1 in league play after splitting its doubleheader with New Orleans last Sunday. Middle Tennessee played just one mid-week game against Tennessee, losing 5-3 but will look to bounce back against the Indians.
Junior Nathan Hines is leading the Blue Raiders at the plate as he is batting .482 with 27 hits in 56 at bats. Hines has driven in 20 runs, scored 20 more and has four home runs, nine doubles and two triples. Hines went 7 for 11 in the series with New Orleans with three home runs, eight RBI and scored four runs.
The Blue Raiders will be on the road all of next week facing Austin Peay on Wednesday, March 19 before heading south to Boca Raton, Fla., for its three-game series with Florida Atlantic.
Dick Palmer will have the play-by-play for the Blue Raiders against Arkansas State on WMTS 88.3 FM and on www.goblueraiders.com. First pitch from Tomlinson Stadium on Friday, March 14 is set for 6 p.m.
Series:Middle Tennessee leads the all-time series 16-6; Peterson is 16-6 against the Indians. The Blue Raiders won the last meeting between the two schools 7-5 on March 25, 2007.
