Blue Raiders top UL-Lafayette 2-1 in game one of doubleheader
April 5, 2008 · MT Media RelationsSenior Langdon Stanley picked up the win on Saturday afternoon allowing just one hit in three innings.
Bretnz allowed one run on two hits in six innings of work while Stanley picked up the win allowing just one hit in three innings.
UL-Lafayette put the first run on the board as Josh Logan scored on a sacrifice fly by Matt Goulas in the third inning.
Sophomore Zach Hudson tied the score at 1-1 as he scored on a passed ball by Ragin' Cajun catcher Thad Griffin.
Junior Zach Dean singled to right field in the bottom of the eighth bringing in junior Rawley Bishop from third to put the Blue Raiders up 2-1.
Freshman Tyler Burnett led the Blue Raiders at the plate as he was the only one to notch more than one hit. Burnett ended the day 2 for 3.
Middle Tennessee will play game two of the series later this afternoon when it plays the second part of its Saturday doubleheader against the Ragin'Cajuns.
