MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - The national spotlight continues to shine on the Middle Tennessee men's golf program.
Golfweek Magazine has named Middle Tennessee its national team of the week for the second time this spring after the Blue Raiders won the Middle Tennessee/Aldila Intercollegiate.
The Blue Raiders, who have won a school record four straight tournaments, were also named Golfweek's National Team of the Week, March 5, after winning two events within a one-week time frame.
Middle Tennessee has fashioned a 61-4 record in five spring tournaments and is 94-26 for the year. The Blue Raiders have two of the Sun Belt's top seven rated players in Rick Cochran and Chas Narramore, who are sixth and seventh, respectively, in the conference rankings.
Narramore has been named the Sun Belt's Golfer of the Month twice during the 2007-08 school year and Cochran earned the award for March.
Middle Tennessee is ranked No. 47 nationally by Golfweek and No. 52 by Golfstat. The Blue Raiders will next be in action at the Sun Belt Conference Golf Championships in Muscle Shoals, Ala., April 21-23.
