Sloss Qualifies for NCAA's at Last Chance Meet
Blue Raiders will be well-represented at next week's meet
May 17, 2008 · Jo Jo FreemanSophomore DeRay Sloss was the third collegiate finisher in the 400-meter hurdles, posting an NCAA regional qualifying time at the Georgia Tech Last Chance Invitational in Atlanta, Ga. (MT)
Sloss posted an NCAA regional time of 51.92 at the George C. Griffin Track and Field Facility on the Georgia Tech campus. Sloss missed qualifying for the regionals by one-hundredths of a second in the event last week at the Sun Belt Championships.
Sloss was one of seven Blue Raiders to compete over the weekend in the last meet to qualify for the NCAA regionals, which begin next week. Middle Tennessee will compete in the NCAA Mideast Regional in Fayetteville, Ark., beginning Friday, May 30, at John McDonnell Field on the University of Arkansas campus.
