Klaschka's Upset Bid Falls Short

September 24, 2004 · MT Media Relations
GREENVILLE, S.C. - Middle Tennessee's Jennifer Klaschka fell just short of the biggest upset of her career with a 6-2, 4-6, 4-6 loss to 5th ranked Audra Falk of Vanderbilt at the Furman Fall Tennis Classic Friday.

Klaschka, ranked 63rd in the ITA, shocked Falk by easily taking the first set 6-2. Falk, however, used her experience to come back and take the match. It doesn't get any easier for Klaschka who will face ranked player Christyn Lucas, ranked 111th, of South Carolina Saturday afternoon.

It was not a good day for the Lady Raiders as a whole as the team lost every match in the tournament. Klaschka's was the only close match of the day. Middle Tennessee will get another chance as the team returns to action on Saturday.
