MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Dara McLean's career-tying 28 kills helped lead the Middle Tennessee Blue Raider volleyball team (4-8) to a 3-0 (30-20, 30-18, 30-27) victory over Troy (3-10) Saturday in Alumni Memorial Gym.

McLean, an outside hitter, recorded her third consecutive game with double figure kills and it was her second 20 plus kill performance of the season. Her big performance was a boost for a Blue Raider team that is suffering from the injury bug.

After dropping a tough match to Western Kentucky on Friday, Middle Tennessee took out its frustrations on Troy. The Blue Raiders opened game one strong, notching a .586 attack percentage with just two errors. Game two was just as strong as Middle Tennessee again only registered two errors in a .455 attack percentage performance.

Troy came back in game three and threatened to push the issue for a game four. McLean registered the final two kills of the match to end the troy threat.

Blue Raider Andressa Lyra recorded a double-double in the match with 14 kills and 10 digs. Setter Megan Sumrell had 41 assists and libero Alicia Lemau'u added 10 digs.

Middle Tennessee heads back into Sun Belt Conference play on Sunday as the Blue Raiders host North Texas. The Mean Green is 1-0 in Sun Belt play and 2-10 overall.
