MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Middle Tennessee Kai Schledorn won a pair of matches in the consolation bracket while teammate Anant Sitaram lost a close match in the quarterfinals of the main draw on Sunday at the 36th Southern Intercollegiate Championships in Athens, Ga. Schledorn defeated Georgia Tech's David North, 6-2, 6-2, Sunday morning. The sophomore then won 6-3, 6-7 (5), 10-2 over Vanderbilt's Jason Pinsky in the afternoon.
Schledorn served for the match in the second set but had trouble finishing the deal before winning in the supertiebreaker in the third set. Schledorn takes on South Alabama's Clinton Jacobs in the finals on Monday morning. Jacobs defeated Schledorn last week at the Middle Tennessee Fall Invitational, 7-5, 3-6, 7-6, in the quarterfinals.
In Division II singles main draw, Sitaram had his seven match winning streak this fall snapped, dropping a 6-7, 4-6 decision to Winthrop's Vinicius Bartolatto.
