Schledorn Wins Twice, Sitaram Falls
September 26, 2004 · MT Media RelationsSophomore Kai Schledorn won a pair of matches and will play in the consolation finals Monday at the 36th Southern Intercollegiate Championships. (MT)
Schledorn defeated Georgia Tech's David North, 6-2, 6-2, Sunday morning. The sophomore then won 6-3, 6-7 (5), 10-2 over Vanderbilt's Jason Pinsky in the afternoon.
Schledorn served for the match in the second set but had trouble finishing the deal before winning in the supertiebreaker in the third set. Schledorn takes on South Alabama's Clinton Jacobs in the finals on Monday morning. Jacobs defeated Schledorn last week at the Middle Tennessee Fall Invitational, 7-5, 3-6, 7-6, in the quarterfinals.
In Division II singles main draw, Sitaram had his seven match winning streak this fall snapped, dropping a 6-7, 4-6 decision to Winthrop's Vinicius Bartolatto.
