Middle Tennessee Volleyball Competes in Shortened Version of Kentucky Tourney
September 13, 2001 · MT Media RelationsSophomore Goldie Bilyeu and the rest of the Lady Raiders volleyball team will compete in the Kentucky Conference Challenge on Saturday. (MT)
The whole tournament was in question on Wednesday, when San Jose State and then the University of Virginia chose not to compete in the tournament. However, Miami University (OH) (3-3) decided to enter into the tournament, after they discovered they couldn't logistically compete in the Denver Tournament in Denver, CO.
Middle Tennessee will play Miami (OH) at noon Saturday and will then close the tournament with a 5 p.m. match up with host Kentucky (4-3). It will be the first meeting between the Lady Raiders and Miami (OH), and only the third meeting for UK and Middle Tennessee with the two teams each winning one match.
