Songock places second at Belmont
Sangau finishes seventh for women

Songock led a strong contingent of Blue Raider men, with four placing in the Top 20 and the men's team finishing second among nine teams. Songock ran the 5K Vaughn's Creek Course in 15:15.89, while sophomore Festus Chemaoi was ninth in 15:54.35.
Sophomore David Emery placed 11th in 15:54.87 and sophomore Isaac Biwott finished 18th in 16:04.61. Junior Julius Kirui was the fifth Middle Tennessee runner, coming in 32nd in 16:31.02.
Sangau finished the women's 4K course in 14:50.81, while sophomore Marla Bailey placed 16th in 15:16.10 and senior Ashley Comstock was 22nd in 15:20.40. Freshman Kristen Tithof finished 47th in 16:04.06 and senior Ashleigh Thaler was 57th in 17:05.92, as the Blue Raider women placed sixth among 12 teams on a wet and soggy day.
Both teams run again next week at the Memphis Twilight Classic on Saturday, September 13.
