Lady Raiders Remain in Fifth Place

October 9, 2004 · MT Media Relations
MIAMI, Fla. - Middle Tennessee women's golf stands in fifth place after two rounds, shooting a 315, for a 633 total, in the Pat Bradley Invitational at Doral.

With a shotgun start of 1 p.m. the Lady Raiders had to not only fight off sweltering heat but a long wait at each tee. Overall it took the team almost six hours to complete 18 holes.

"The round was so long I think we just lost our focus near the end," said head coach Rachael Short. "We really lost our steam and our strokes as the day went on."

Princeton University continues to lead the 16-team tournament shooting a 302 on the second day for a 609. The Lady Raiders are six strokes from fourth place and seven from third.

Senior Kristen Lynch shot a 77 to lead the Lady Raiders in day two action. Jamey Dillard and Maggie McGill each had a 78. Taylor Cooper had an 84 and Taryn Durham shot an 83.

The Lady Raiders have a shotgun start of 8 a.m. on Sunday.
