MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Due to the terrorist attacks in New York City and decisions by conferences around the country to suspend athletic action through this weekend, the Middle Tennessee soccer matches scheduled for this weekend at Appalachian State and East Tennessee have been canceled.
East Tennessee decided to cancel the Sunday match late Thursday afternoon, and Appalachian State made a decision late Thursday night to cancel Friday's match at Kidd Brewer Stadium on the Mountaineers campus.
The Blue Raiders will take on a pair of club teams on September 22 at home before opening a three-match homestand on September 25 against Murray State. Sun Belt play begins against defending conference champion Florida International on September 28.
