MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Retail merchants throughout Murfreesboro as well as on-campus venues have sold out of the Blackout T-Shirts for tonight's nationally-televised game between Middle Tennessee and Florida Atlantic.
According to marketing director Brad Smith there were 6,000 T-shirts being sold at retail stores throughout Murfreesboro and on campus and the Middle Tennessee Student Government Association also sold out of an additional surplus of the Blackout shirts.
Director of Athletics Chris Massaro encourages all Blue Raider fans that were not able to purchase one of the shirts to wear black from their home wardrobe for tonight's historic game when the Blue Raiders hit the airwaves for the national broadcast on ESPN2 at 7 p.m.
"The promotion of getting an official 'Blackout T-Shirt' and your ticket to the game in one was obviously well received by Blue Raiders fans and it was a great idea on the part of Marketing Director Brad Smith," Massaro said. "We are excited about everyone joining us for this promotion so if you don't already have one of the t-shirts then be sure to wear black from home."
