LUBBOCK, Texas - Middle Tennessee's youth led the way at the McHaney/Morehead Invitational at the Rawls Course in Lubbock, Texas this week.
Freshman Steph Gough shot 16-over 235 to lead Middle Tennessee. She shot 6-over 79 in the final round and tied for 23rd overall with a three-round 235. The Blue Raiders had two top 30 finishers in the 75-player field but they finished eighth overall with a three-round total 945.
Sophomore Morgan Hale tied for 28th overall with an 18-over 237, followed by freshman Karisa Akin who tied for 32nd with a 238 as the top three finishers for Middle Tennessee were a pair of freshmen and a sophomore.
Akins had Middle Tennessee's best round with a 3-over 76 in Tuesday's final round. It also proved to be her best round of the two-day, 54-hole event.
Senior Mallory Bishop tied for 41st overall followed by Leigh Wilkins at 59th.
