In C singles, senior Andrea Herrera teamed with Paula Jaime of East Tennessee to defeat Shannon Hartmann and Rebecca Kirven of Samford 8-5. Then the pair won 8-3 over Molly Maddox and Emma Knight in the semi-finals.
The duo won their final match of the tournament by default when Troy's Leonie Guijt and Gabriella Viega with drew due to an illness.
In consolation singles, junior Natalie Araya fell to Ali Beavers 6-1, 1-6, 10-3 in the quarterfinals.
Junior Anna Djananova won her first consolation match 6-1, 6-0 over Reijina Hopkins in the C bracket. In the semi-finals, Djananova fell to Katherine St. Clair 7-6 (5), 6-2.
In doubles action, senior Marlene Chemin and freshman Taylor Coffey defeated Boston College's Valecia Kendrick and Stacey Lopez 8-6 to advance to the quarterfinals. In their next match the duo fell to Florida International's Maria Spencely and Maria Vallasciani 8-3.
Freshmen Marietta Bigus and Alex Dachos paired up to play Maddox and Knight but fell 9-3 in the quarterfinals.
The Blue Raiders will be back in action Oct. 17-19 when they travel to Nashville, Tenn., to compete in the June Stewart Invitational.
