Cochran's sizzling 66 paces Blue Raider golfers

RUSTON, La. - Rick Cochran shot a career-low 66 in the third round to cap a strong showing at the LA Tech/Squire Creek Classic and finish tied for sixth overall with a 6-under 210 for the 54-hole event.

Cochran's solid play highlighted an impressive final-round showing for the Blue Raiders, whose team total 282 was the second best round of the day. Middle Tennessee climbed to eighth in the final standings after a slow start Monday.

Cochran put together his second straight noteworthy outing to lead the Blue Raiders while sophomore Jason Millard also continued his good work. Millard was even for the tournament after shooting 1-over 73 in the final round. He finished tied for 19th overall.

Chas Narramore played Tuesday's final round at even and was 1-under over the final two rounds after a slow start. He tied for 30th overall with a 219. Kent Bulle also improved with each round, shooting 1-over in the second round and 1-under in the final round to tie for 39th overall with a 221. Craig Smith tied for 68th with 226 for the three rounds.
