MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Freshman Alex Dachos and junior Anna Djananova began the June Stewart Invitational with wins on Friday.

In the Friday mix and matches, Dachos defeated UTM's Belisa DeBrito 6-2, 6-2. Dachos will play Ernestine Koornhof of UTM at 1 p.m. in the mix and matches.
Djananova also posted a win for the Blue Raiders as she defeated Korrnhof 6-3, 6-1. Djananova will play UTM's Julianne McMeen at 1 p.m. on Saturday in the mix and matches.
Junior Natalie Araya fell to Catherine Newman of host Vanderbilt 6-0, 6-0 to open play in the Jason Valentine Metamaterials draw. Araya will play Ragini Acharya of William and Mary at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday in the first round of consolation play.
Freshman Marietta Bigus lost her match 6-2, 6-2 to Zapadalova of Indiana in the first round of the Tom Black Invitational draw. Bigus will play Amanda Moccia of Western Michigan at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
In the Travis Young draw freshman Taylor Coffey fell to Lauren Sabacinski of William and Mary 6-0, 6-2. Coffey will face Indiana's Sigrid Fischer at 1 p.m. on Saturday in the consolation bracket.
Senior Andrea Herrera fell to Stephanie Heller of Indiana 6-0, 6-2 in the Gary Neal draw. Herrera will play Ashley Moccia of Western Michigan at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
In the Edward Collins Invitational draw, senior Marlene Chemin lost her match 6-0, 6-1 to Carmen Pop of William and Mary. Chemin will play at 1 p.m. on Saturday in the consolation bracket when she faces Sara Leavy of UT-Martin.
In doubles action, Djananova and Chemin fell to Emily Dudzik and Yumi Matsuto of Western Michigan 8-6.
Dachos teamed with freshman Marietta Bigus winning their match 8-4 over Jenny Nalepa and April Kerr of Western Michigan.
Heather Steinbauer and Courtney Ulery of Vanderbilt defeated Araya and Coffey 8-3 to round out doubles action for the Blue Raiders.
