Blue and White game two tied 13-13
Play will resume on Tuesday
October 19, 2008 · MT Athletic CommunicationsBlue tied the game in the top of the 9th after a sacrifice bunt by Tyler Burnett moved runners to second and third.
After the regulation nine innings the game was called and will resume on Tuesday, Oct. 21 at 2:45 p.m. in the top of the 10th inning.
Blue scored two runs in the top of the first to begin play on Sunday. The White team quickly responded putting up six runs of their own in the bottom of the inning.
The two teams continued to trade runs back and forth added by four total home runs on the day.
Justin Jones, Steven Watson and Zach Dean all hit home runs for the Blue team while Blake McDade added one of his own for White.
With the White team leading in the seventh Blue loaded the bases but Nathan Hines hit into a double play to end the rally.
Then Blue tied the game in the top of the 9th after a sacrifice bunt by Tyler Burnett moved runners to second and third. Then Jones scored on the next play followed by Ben Darlington recorded the tying run after a throwing error to home plate.
Coty Woods pitched three shutout innings for the Blue team as it forced extra innings.
Tuesday's game will be broadcast on www.goblueraiders.com with Dick Palmer calling the play-by-play.
The final game of the series will be on Tuesday, Oct. 21 at 2:45 p.m. The Blue Raiders have Monday, Oct. 20 off to work the Annual Grand Slam Fish Fry which will be held at the Tennessee Livestock Center at 6 p.m.
