Blue Raiders cruise to 3-0 win over ULM

Extend win streak to nine matches

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - The Blue Raiders extended their win streak to nine on Saturday night with a 3-0 (25-15, 25-20, 25-23) win over UL-Monroe.

Sophomore Izabela Kozon led Middle Tennessee with 13 kills followed by senior Ashley Asberry with 11. Junior Janay Yancey added 10 of her own with just one error for a .643 attack percentage.

As a team, the Blue Raiders recorded 42 kills while holding the Warhawks to 25 for a .045 attack percentage.

Defensively, Middle Tennessee had 38 digs led by junior Ashley Waugh with 13. The Blue Raiders also had seven blocks as ULM had six but just 19 digs in the match.

Middle Tennessee cruised to an easy win ULM to begin the match as Kozon had seven kills for a .875 attack percentage.

The Warhawks put up a fight in the second set but it was not enough as the Blue Raiders took control toward the end to take a 2-0 lead in the match.

After two sets, the Blue Raiders had 27 kills for a.327 attack percentage while ULM had an attack percentage of -.021 with just 14 kills.

Middle Tennessee began to take care of business in the third set but ULM would not give up fighting to the very end.

The Blue Raiders will be back in action on Sunday, Oct. 26 when it rounds out its four-match home stand with New Orleans at 2 p.m. Admission to all home volleyball matches is free.
