The Blue Raiders notched a 9-2 record at home and it is the second consecutive home match Middle Tennessee has posted a shutout. Middle Tennessee completes the regular season on the road in the Sun Belt with matches against Western Kentucky on Friday and Louisiana-Lafayette on Sunday.
Middle Tennessee started game one slowly, only leading by one (15-14) early in the match. The Blue Raiders went on a 6-2 run to pull away from the Lady Panthers and thanks to two ball handling errors by Georgia State, Middle Tennessee finally closed out the game.
The Blue Raiders were nothing short of dominant in the second game as Middle Tennessee built an early 18-7 lead. With Deckard serving, Middle Tennessee won eight straight points to make it 27-8. An ace by Quanshell Scott, a kill by Andressa Lyra and an error by Georgia State gave Middle Tennessee game two.
Overall, Georgia State was no match for Middle Tennessee. The Blue Raiders dominated the Lady Panthers on the court, registering a .333 hitting percentage to Georgia State's .129.
Keke Deckard led the match with 17 kills. She also recorded 12 digs in the match for her fifth consecutive double-double and her ninth overall. Middle Tennessee also got a double figure kill performance from Dara McLean who had 15 kills in the match. She also had two aces.
