MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Two members of the Middle Tennessee men's tennis team will compete in the USTA $75,000 Nashville Challenger hosted by Vanderbilt University on Saturday.
Sophomore John Peers will begin play at 10 a.m. while freshman Victor Melo will play at 3 p.m.
"I am really excited they have gotten the opportunity to play this caliber of a tournament. These are two players I expect to be an integral part of the team in the spring," head coach David McNamara said.
Former NCAA doubles national champion Andreas Siljestrom will also compete in the tournament. Siljestrom will play at 10 a.m.
The qualifying rounds of the tournament are Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 1-2 while the main draw will run from Nov. 3 through Nov. 8. Admission to the tournament is $10 at the indoor courts on the campus of Vanderbilt.
