Clark becomes the first back-to-back winner for MT since 1985.
NEW ORLEANS, La. - Middle Tennessee junior forward Alysha Clark received her second-straight Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week accolade for Dec. 2 it was announced by the league office Tuesday afternoon.
Clark, who was selected as the Nov. 25 Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week, becomes the first multi-time winner in the league this season with her two honors in the opening three weeks.
Her selection is the 26th for Middle Tennessee since it joined the SBC in 2000-01 and the 12th of her career, which includes five each during her two seasons at Belmont (2005-06 and 2006-07).
Clark becomes the first MT player to receive back-to-back honors since Kim Webb in February 1985 during the program's Ohio Valley Conference era. The Blue Raiders' Amber Holt and Chrissy Givens were recognized on consecutive weeks during November 2006 by the Sun Belt.
Clark was selected after scoring a career-best 37 points to go along with her 12 rebounds in Sunday's 79-75 win at LSU. The double-double was her third of the season and 41st overall of her career and it followed another double-double performance of 21 points and 10 boards against Arizona Friday.
The Mt. Juliet, Tenn., native opened the week with a 25-point effort against Chattanooga.
She finished with 27.7 ppg and 9.3 rpg averages during the three-game stretch and converted 17-of-19 (89.5 percent) of her free throws in helping Middle Tennessee to a current four-game winning streak.
Middle Tennessee, currently at 5-1, has received votes by both the ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll and Associated Press Poll this week.
