Lady Raiders continue homestand Tuesday against Austin Peay

Middle Tennessee will play in the Murphy Center for the second time in three games

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Middle Tennessee, fresh off a victory Sunday over Alabama, will look to win its sixth of seven games this season inside the Murphy Center when it plays host to in-state foe Austin Peay at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

The Blue Raiders captured a 77-67 triumph over the Crimson Tide Sunday afternoon in front of a season-high crowd of 5,017 and a regionally-televised audience watching on Comcast/Charter Sports Southeast (CSS).

Junior Alysha Clark continues to pace the Lady Raider offense with 23.3 ppg, ranking her fifth nationally in scoring. She has tallied 28 and 28 in consecutive MT games, against SEC foes Tennessee and Alabama.

Clark also is the team leader with 8.2 rebounds per game; however, classmate Brandi Brown hauled in a Middle Tennessee-best eight caroms against Alabama. Brown leads the team with a 1.50 assist-to-turnover ratio.

The Blue Raiders will enter the game with a 6-4 record, including a 5-1 mark inside the friendly confines of the Murphy Center. They currently rank ninth nationally with 8.1 3-pointers made per game, while junior Anne Marie Lanning is 46th on the individual leaderboard with 2.6 per contest.

Austin Peay is 4-5 on the season and coming off a 74-52 win against SIU-Edwardsville Saturday in Clarksville, Tenn. Ashley Herring paces the Governors with 12.6 ppg and 7.3 rpg for head coach Carrie Daniels' squad.

Tuesday's meeting will be the 62nd in the series with Middle Tennessee owning a commanding 52-9 lead. The two teams first met during the 1976-77 campaign and the Blue Raiders were victorious in the first 41 games.
